Mac OCS Certificate Signing Request (CSR) Generation

Quick Guideline to Create Certificate Signing Request (CSR) for Mac OCS

To create a Certificate Signing Request (CSR) for Microsoft Office Communications (MS-OCS) Server 2007, please follow the steps mentioned below.

However, if you already received your SSL certificate from the issuing Certificate Authority, proceed with the final step using our SSL installation instructions.

Step 1 – To start with, you need to click on Start > Programs > Administrative Tools > Office Communications 2007.

Step 2 – Now get the 'Enterprise Edition Server' you installed, by expanding the items in the snap-in.

Step 3 – Select on 'Certificates' after right-clicking on the correct server name. Now, click on the 'Next' button on the welcome window of the certificate wizard, as shown in the image below.

Step 4 – From the options listed in the next window, select 'Create a new certificate' and click on 'Next'.

Step 5 – Click on 'Prepare the request now, but send it later' from the list of the options appearing the window.

Step 6 – Now enter the name of your certificate in the space provided under the title 'Name' as shown in the image below.

Step 7 – In the same window, make sure you have clicked on the checkbox 'Mark cert as exportable', to export the certificate to other servers. Now click on the 'Next' button to proceed.

Step 8 – In the next window you need to submit the following information:

  • 'Organization': Here, you need to enter the legal name of your company, including Inc, LLC etc, if applicable.

After filling in the above details, just click on the 'Next' button.

Step 9 – In the 'Subject Name' field, enter the specific fully qualified domain name that you wish the SSL certificate to secure. Also, click on the checkbox of 'Automatically add local computer name' and proceed by clicking 'Next'.

Step 10 – In the next window popping up, fill in all your geographical location details like 'Country/Region', 'State/Province' and 'City'.

Step 11 – Now choose the proper location and file name to save your newly created CSR. You CSR file will be appear in a text (.txt) file.

Step 12 – For the final step, carefully review all the information that you've submitted during this process, and finish the certificate wizard by clicking 'Next'. After, copy and paste the CSR into the appropriate text box in the SSL certificate generation form in your account on The SSL Store

Step 13 – After you generate and receive the SSL certificate from the issuing Certificate Authority, proceed with the final step using our SSL installation instructions.
